LIFE POST #10 | MY 22ND BIRTHDAY

Wednesday, 22 January 2014

I turned 22 yesterday so I thought I'd tell you what I got up to this week. I spent the weekend in Southampton, as you might know if you've read my other posts, and spent yesterday with Sam. I'm most definitely feeling 22...(8 years until I'm 30 - that's a scary thought).

Friday

I got to Southampton after work on Friday. Sam and I had a night in with a Sainsbury's meal deal and Orange is the New Black. We know how to party, right?!

He gave me my birthday present early - tickets to the Harry Potter Studio Tour!!!! I'm so excited to go! I've wanted to go for ages and have been hinting to everyone who would listen. We're going on the 9th February, which is near Valentine's Day so that will be a nice treat for us both.
Saturday

On Saturday I met up with some of my friends for lunch at one of my favourite restaurants in Southampton. It was really nice to see them after so long. They bought me a couple of really nice nail polishes and a bottle of wine.

In the evening we headed out to a club in town. I got quite drunk but luckily I didn't end up crying like I did on my 21st. I took the phrase "it's my birthday I can cry if I want to" to new heights haha.

Sunday

I was hungover so Sunday was a write off but we did have a fry up and a Chinese takeaway.

Monday

There was a Petting Zoo on campus before we left for home. There were bunnies, dogs, ducks and guinea pigs. I got to hold the fluffiest bunny rabbit, which didn't end well as I had to take my inhaler. I'm allergic to a lot of animal hair so visiting the Petting Zoo may not have been the best idea.

Tuesday

Sam and I went to see 12 Years a Slave followed by dinner at Wagamama. I did enjoy the film but I felt like there was something missing! I think my main issue with it was the perception of time - I never felt like 12 years had passed, and that might have been the desired effect, but I don't think the film lived up to my high expectations.

When we got home we had a bath, watched Girls and ate cupcakes. So we had a very girly evening afterwards!

I'll be back to usual with my posts now - no more talk of my birthday, I promise! ;)

much love,
Cally
