I arrived early to work this morning - half an hour before I started - so I couldn't help going into Boots and taking advantage of their 3 for 2 offer. Barry M's Silk Nail Paint was launched in Boots today, and in Superdrug earlier in the week. I quickly snapped up my favourite colour and continued towards the much hyped make-up products of 2014 so far.
Barry M Silk Collection Nail Paint
This new Barry M collection is available in 6 shades: Paint Pink, White Pearl, Brown Truffle, Green Meadow, Blue Mist and Purple Heather. The colours available are veering towards pastel shades so it will be interesting to see whether Barry M adds anymore colours to the mix. I chose Blue Mist because blue is my favourite colour, and I found the rest to be quite pale. The idea of the Silk Collection is to give your nails a matte finish with added sheen. It's hot on the heels of the matte polishes that Barry M have released but with an added shine for a Springtime feel.
The polishes are available for £3.99, which is pretty decent for a new release. Look out for an NOTD featuring the polish soon!
Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm
I have mentioned this before; I never used to wear any products on my lips until fairly recently. I been using Maybelline's Baby Lips and Soap & Glory's set of lipglosses. I hadn't missed the blogger hype surrounding these balms so I wanted to give one a chance. There are 10 shades available but my local Boots seemed to only stock the brightest/unsuitable shades for me. I decided on Elusive, which is a dusty pink, after swatching it on my hand. It felt really soft when I tested it so I'm excited to give this a proper go soon.
This is another matte product - matte is very on trend at the moment isn't it?! It costs £7.99 so hopefully it was worth the money.
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Lightweight Primer
Before I tell you anything about this product I need to tell you that I'm completely in love with Benefit's Porefessional primer. I've heard mixed reviews about this primer but I want to see what it's like for myself. I can't keep spending over £20 on a primer - it's too expensive so I'm hoping this might be quite effective. I have massive pores on my T-Zone and on my cheeks, and I often forget to put primer on but it really makes a massive different. This one feels a bit like applying silicone to your skin (I tested it in the shop) and I'm a bit worried it might clog my pores but I will avoid slapping lots of it on my face.
This is also worth £7.99. There doesn't seem to be a massive amount of product inside but I'm hoping a little goes a long way.
How have you been spending your money this month? Have you tried any of these products - let me know your thoughts!
love, Cally
Heard really good things about the primer! I really want to try it!

There's a lot of shades available on the website! My only concern is that they are really bright and I'm not a fan of bright lipsticks. I hope you manage to find ones you like :) xxx
