VALENTINE'S DAY

Monday, 17 February 2014

Instead of writing an update on the past week I wanted to tell you about Valentine's Day. I didn't get a photo of Sam and I but I did manage to take a selfie. Love a good selfie! I didn't even take a foodie photo so I was pretty much failing at documenting our night for this blog post.

We had so many issues with getting the restaurant we wanted - I would tell you the restaurant's name but there's a funny story about our meal and I'd rather the restaurant didn't know! Sam booked too late in the week via their website but they didn't bother sending us an email to say it was all booked up. I rang on Wednesday only to find out that we couldn't have our table. Obviously I had to tweet at them to complain - I'm definitely my mother's daughter! It all worked out fine and we got free cocktails for the trouble.

I wore this dress from Boohoo. I bought it a year ago but I've only worn it a couple of times. It's a really pretty floral dress with a black belt but it's quite low cut so I was messing with it all night to ensure I didn't show anyone my breasts. I didn't, thankfully!

So you might be wanting to know what the funny story is... Each table had a candle, which was pretty much a recipe for disaster on Valentine's Day where everyone was drinking lots. Sam opened up the menu and I began to smell burning, noticing his menu was on fire! He blew it out and patted it down but there was a massive hole where the starters should have been. I've been calling him a firestarter - I'm so punny! We didn't tell anyone because we were much too embarrassed. Regardless of that little mishap, it was a lovely meal and the perfect way to spend the evening.

What did you get up to on Valentine's Day?

love, Cally

Thanks lovely, it's very girly and not something I usually like but it was £18 from Boohoo so I had to snap it up xx
