PRIMARK SPRING/SUMMER SHOES

Wednesday, 9 March 2016

I love this time of year! Is March technically Spring or is it not until 21st March? Well anyway, I'm introducing Spring/Summer pieces into my wardrobe, including these two b-e-a-u-t-iful pairs of shoes from Primark.

WHAT I EAT IN A DAY #1

Sunday, 6 March 2016

You might have seen, through my fitness updates, that I've been on a mission to get fit. I've been doing workouts, yoga, trying to motivate myself to go on runs (and failing miserably) and eating healthier foods. I've cut out a lot of the unhealthy snacks I used to eat. I would binge on chocolate and crisps but instead I go for healthier snacks: rice cakes with hummus, dark chocolate or fruit. I love seeing what other people eat in a day so I thought I'd start showing you what I eat.

MAGICAL LANTERN FESTIVAL | CHISWICK HOUSE GARDENS

Friday, 4 March 2016

You might have seen photos of the Magical Lantern Festival in Chiswick House Gardens on Instagram/Twitter/Facebook. The festival celebrates Chinese New Year, the year of the Monkey. The festival has a large number of lanterns, mostly animal ones - Monkeys, Pandas, Zebras, Elephants and many more. As you walk down the darkened path you encounter more and more animals. It's like a little safari on your doorstep. I wanted to share a few photos with you just in case you don't have time to go and see it on its final weekend!

NETFLIX PICKS

Wednesday, 2 March 2016

I have a week off work this week - it's very well deserved, I haven't had an entire week off since August. I've spent a lot of it watching Netflix because I've just been sitting on the sofa, doing some colouring and giving my body a bit of a rest. There's a large list of TV shows I watch now, and ones I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a new series to watch.

ALL TIME FAVOURITE | L'OREAL PARIS INFALLIBLE NAIL POLISH

Sunday, 28 February 2016

It is by no means an exaggeration to say the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Nail Polishes are my favourite. I discovered them last year and have grown my collection considerably since then (I've even added to it since these photos were taken). I always preferred Essie polishes over any other; Splash of Grenadine will always be my favourite colour but I've got a new favourite polish.

FITNESS UPDATE | FEBRUARY

Wednesday, 24 February 2016

Another month, another fitness update. This month has been a lot tougher than the last. Not because my motivation has wavered (although it is easy for it to lull in February); mainly it's down to fitting workouts around my schedule at work. When you're working a 9-7 shift there's little time for exercise unless you wake up at 5am or go to bed at midnight, and I'm not one for sacrificing my sleep. However, I have managed to introduce two new things into my exercise this month.

STAYCATION AT STOKE PARK

Sunday, 21 February 2016

Located in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire is a little slice of heaven just off the beaten track. Surrounded by 300 acres is Stoke Park - the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. We found it by chance one day; during a country drive on a bitter, winter's day. Driving through the golf course through to the Mansion building, we knew we had stumbled upon something special. We pledged to save up the money and stay here someday. However, Dan surprised me at Christmas with a 2 night stay in February!

20-SOMETHING WITH CONFIDENCE

Wednesday, 17 February 2016

One of my resolutions at the start of the year was to have more confidence in myself. I wanted to believe in the decisions I made, and show conviction in any opinion I shared. I think as a 20-something woman we all struggle to find our place in society or even in our own heads. I don't consider myself to be the most confident of people; I think a lot of it is "fake it until you make it". Having said that, I thought I'd share a few helpful tips on exuding confidence, and general life advice that I turn to, even when I'm feeling less than enthusiastic.

MY NEW HAIRCARE ROUTINE | L'OREAL ELVIVE EXTRAORDINARY CLAY

Sunday, 14 February 2016

I've never had a solid haircare routine: I wash it 3/4 times a week, condition it sometimes and use dry shampoo the day after a wash. Not that extensive. So it was probably about time I started taking care of my hair, especially since I'm trying to grow it a bit longer, and maybe even grow out my fringe.

ADULT COLOURING BOOKS

Wednesday, 10 February 2016

After a stressful day at work there is nothing I enjoy more than coming home to colour in front of the TV. I'm typing this with my dad's cardigan on and a cup of tea, and I'm already looking forward to some colouring after my bath. Pure comfort. Sometimes you just have to take some time out and focus your mind. And colouring is the perfect distraction. I'm building up a collection of books but I thought I'd show you a few of my favourites.

SOUTH AFRICA | ITINERARY

Sunday, 7 February 2016

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you might know I'm going to South Africa in September. It seems like ages away right now but we have the itinerary, with the flights and hotels all booked. This is getting exciting! I thought I'd share the itinerary with you (not the specific hotels though) to give you an idea of what we will be doing in those 3 weeks, and to help if you're thinking about going to South Africa too!

BACK TO MAC | ADDING TO MY COLLECTION

Wednesday, 3 February 2016

I have a love/hate relationship with MAC. On one hand, I'm obsessed with their lipsticks. *Hands up who loves Crosswires as much as I do!* But on the other hand, MAC is bad for my bank balance. I could pop in to have a quick look and come out with 3 lipsticks and a new 217 brush.

FITNESS UPDATE | JANUARY

Sunday, 31 January 2016

If you know me you'll know that fitness isn't my thing. I've never been to a gym, lifted a weight or gone on a run. I'm probably the least fit person you will ever come across. I used to play netball in secondary school but that was the extent of my exercise.

13 THINGS I LEARNT IN ITALY

Wednesday, 27 January 2016

Last September, Dan and I visited Italy for 6 glorious, but tiring, days. If you follow me on Instagram (Cally_Beckley if you fancy a gander) you will have seen half my feed is full of #Italy #Rome #Venice like a cultured lil' human. We spent 3 days in Rome then 3 in Venice - a quick whizz around the country of pasta, pizza, prosecco and plenty of tourists - but we managed to cram a lot in, and discover many things about the wonderful country.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Sunday, 24 January 2016

Not been around these parts in a while, have we? After 7 long, busy months I'm finally back, with a new name (well, can't really call that part new) and a fresh look. I'm ridiculously proud of how my new blog is looking, and I'm so excited to get posting new content.
